Maki Yaki night

So I've been seeing a lot of ads of new places to eat just around the city, and we couldn't wait to try all of  it. After hearing mass last Sunday, we headed to MetroPlaza to satisfy our Japanese food cravings.

Maki Yaki Japanese restaurant located at MetroPlaza, AB Fernandez St., Dagupan City
The place was cozy yet small, it can only serve 30-35 guests at a time. We had to wait outside for 15 minutes to get seated.

They made us wait for another 30 minutes for the free appetizers. And guess what they served: roasted peanuts. I expected something Japanese, like a maki or sashimi. Haha.

After 30 more minutes, they served real food
California Maki rolls
Some seafood ramen. Doesn't look appetizing but it tastes good.
My beef teppan don. I like how sweet the beef strips are, but they're slightly dry. I like my green bell peppers not only for pizza, also for rice dishes! Yum!

The best thing I tasted that night. Mochi ice cream! I'm officially hooked.

I can't compare Maki Yaki with Enso (another Japanese resto in Orient Pacific Center) 'cause we ordered different dishes. Also, I still have to try Maki Yaki's sashimi. Will definitely come back for the Mochi ice cream! :3

  1. I agree, Enso and Makiyaki is very similar but the servings are different. Makiyaki price is cheaper but they don't have sushi platter which is more affordable at Enso.
