Happy birthday to me!

Last week, I was all giddy and excited about my upcoming birthday. I have this pretty leopard-print mullet top that I haven't worn since I purchased it and I was planning to wear it on my special day. I had all my plans laid out: where to go and what to do. I wanted to have a full-body massage and/or a facial. I wanted to buy the shoes and accessories I've been eyeing on for months now. I was craving for Sashimi, too. I wanted my birthday to be a "ME-day". Selfish as it may sound, but, I haven't treated myself with something rewarding for God-knows-how-long (except for food indulgences).

So, it was all settled on my mind. Church-Wearelse-GlamZone-Terra-Enso. Church-Wearelse-GlamZone-Terra-Enso. Church-Wearelse-GlamZone-Terra-Enso.

Fast forward to the day before my birthday: All the excitement has taken its toll on me. Suddenly, I felt unexcited. That night, I wanted to sleep my way to March 21st.

I'm not quite sure why I'm feeling like this, but maybe because for the past few years, I've had "extra special" birthday celebrations.
March 2007 - Beach party with my high school barkada
March 2008 - Private pool party with my new college friends somewhere in Rizal. The day I paid P2500 for a damaged billiard table and broken glass.
March 2009 - My surprise debut party! My college barkada went to Dagupan for my birthday :)
March 2010 - The unplanned celebration in Mendiola with my college friends. First bday with C.
March 2011 - Went home to a filling lunch date with the family in Dagupan. Plus major gifts!

Maybe that's the reason. Or maybe not. It was 11.30pm, mnl time, a message popped out of my chat box... it was C! My frown turned into a smile. His nephew, Angelo, one of the cutest toddlers in the wooorld, also greeted me thru Skype. I was a happy girl.

I woke up to a lot of greetings in Facebook. I realized, one of the best things online is the birthday reminder. A small app can do so much to someone like me. Hundreds of FB friends greeted me like I was someone famous. I liked the attention! But not everything is perfect, just like any other day, I had problems to face. I didn't want to spoil my day over something/someone. It's my birthday, could you at least give me the freedom to be happy?

I dropped by the church late that afternoon. All my other plans didn't push through 'cause a) I wasn't in the mood anymore, and b) I'll be going to Manila this week, I'll do the shopping there.

My mom texted me to go to Cafe du Marc, one of our favorite local restaurants. As I entered, something pink and purple caught my attention. It was the prettiest bouquet of flowers I've ever seen! My dad said it came from him, but I doubt it! I searched for the tag and I was right, it came from C. I knew he had something in mind, I felt it. Haha. That moment made my day, it was the icing on my imaginary cake.

The entire day was a roller coaster of emotions, like an unlimited Space Shuttle ride. Thanks to everyone who sent in their greetings, I am deeply touched by each one of them. To C and his family, thank you so much! And of course, to my family, thanks for squeezing in a little time to have dinner with me. :)

2012 is all about BIG changes

Since the start of the year, I've been embracing a lot of changes in my life. I must say, I'm coping up really well with all of these. To name a few:

1) My new 'do. This was the first time I had my hair cut this short. Well, not short short, but shorter than my usual hair styles. I've always considered my hair my security blanket, and the idea of chopping lengths of it off have never crossed my mind. But for some reasons, I had to, and surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. Now I'm thinking of getting a shorter one soon.

2) Career mode on. It's been a long and lazy hiatus... Good bye, 7-month bum life! Thanks to the sleepless nights in front of the television and laptop, to the missed meals, to the back pains due to overstaying on the bed or couch. It was pleasant, but I am not looking forward for more of it. I NEED A JOB! ASAP! I've already started preparing myself for some hospital hopping and job hunting. Wish me luck!

3) LDR with C. This has got to be the toughest situation I've been in with regards to relationships. I've been preparing for this change since early last year, but until the day he left (January 13, 2012) I am still unprepared. I know it's risky; problems would arise more frequently and it would be kazillion times harder to deal with. But I have so much faith in the both of us, I know he's worth the wait, and I'm trying my best to let him feel the same.

4) Blogging... again. Yes, I'm back and I wouldn't be leaving anytime soon! This may not be considered a big change for me 'coz I've been blogging ever since I was in first year high school. I started with Xanga and LiveJournal (kiara_roxx), then Multiply (whenvanitystrikes), then just recently Tumblr (keaiism). All aforementioned are either closed down or inactive. This blogger account will be the ONLY one I'll be using for now, so beware of posers.

Change is not always bad. You have to welcome it in one way or another. Who knows, better things may happen through these changes, right?
